Massive interest in the Sunday papers regarding Professor Neil McKeganey’s research which will be published later in November.  A double page spread in the Sunday Herald, the front page headline in the Scotsman and both papers made this topic the subject of the leading editorial opinion piece.  There is also an inside headline in the Sunday Times.  Bascially what Professor McKeganey is saying was that only 4% of methadone maintenance treatment was successful against 30% residential.

Last Sunday’s Sunday Herald ran an on-line poll which asks the question “is it time to re-examine the methadone programme?”.  92% said yes only 8% said no.  This speaks for itself.
